  1. Flora Hokkaido Part 4

    Friday, 28 September 2012

The day began with a scenic drive to Biei and Furano which is renowned for its picturesque view!
     A huge flower field!
     Family photo!
My beloved brother who is often mistaken as my boyfriend when Kerwyn isn't by my side!

Cute white dog outside the flower field!
Our tour guide recommended pearl corn! You can to eat it raw! It's really sweet! MUST TRY!
My favourite Japanese curry for lunch! Do try the milk soup if you happen to come across it! It's not a dessert kind of soup, it has ingredients such as carrots and broccoli inside. Really sweet soup which reminds me of Nespray. Haha!
Bought some exfoliation product which is really good!
    Big difference right?
Left for a cheese factory thereafter and obviously, I bought cheesecake to eat! It's really yummy but it has to be eaten fresh, so I can't bring back to SG! ):
Another stop to take some photos

The tree in the background appeared in some car commercial because it's unique and stylish?? See the red/white arrow? It points down to the curb so that drivers wouldn't mount curb! Cool hor?
Dinner was at Susukino Ramen Alley, where ramen shops line both sides of the alley. The ramen was uber delicious and the soup was made less salty to suit the taste of Singaporeans.
No more onsen but the hotel provides yutaka! Kept eating the entire day and ended the night with the cheesecake I bought at LeTao and a Sapporo beer! My brother and I know how to enjoy life! :D

  2. Flora Hokkaido Part 3

    Wednesday, 26 September 2012

We began the day to the most romantic town in Japan! In the 1920s, when the shipping industry was flourishing, the canal shown in the background was built to transport cargo to and from warehouses.
Now, it's the most picturesque canal within the region!
Sadly, the weather was really warm ): The tour guide said that it's hardly so warm in Hokkaido.

    Tower clock!
There are many shops in the area that sell musical boxes, crystal ware and glassware.
Otaru Music Box Museum - Lots of crafted music boxes, picture frames and toys.
Across the street, you'll see this cafe which the tour guide recommended. For every drink you buy, you'll get to bring the cup back! Each drink is ~$10!! Quite expensive hor?
     Lil shops along the street...
Entered LeTao - a pastry shop as we sampled some chocolate product outside the shop. Sampled more stuff in the shop and we ended up buying a cheesecake and the chocolate product! Ate another cup of green tea ice cream before boarding the bus. Hee.. I know, I'm eating alot right? XD
Travelled down to Sounkyo Gorge, situated at the foot of Mt Daisetsuzan National Park. It is created by dramatic columnar cliffs, lined with the couple waterfall - 'Milky Way Falls' and 'Shooting Star Falls'. During winter, the left one would be frozen while the right one wouldn't. Gorgeous view isn't it?
     Cute Japanese children!
    Yummy matcha cake for dessert!
The day ended with another relaxing spring water hot bath! :D

  3. Flora Hokkaido Part 2

    Monday, 24 September 2012

Realized that I left out a stop in the previous post, and that is... The Bear Ranch!
We fed bears apples and cookies by throwing them down.
These bears would wave to you so that you'll throw the food items to them and they are so good at catching them, even though the cookies are so small!
Fascinated by how these bears behave!
There's even cookie slots and the bears just sit there and wait!
     Volcano outside the bear ranch!
We stayed a night at Noboribetsu and had our first onsen experience! Changed into yutaka as it's easier to strip off at the onsen. Kerwyn says that I look good in it! Hee.. (:
     Dinner before onsen!
Took a walk outside the hotel to digest.

No photos of the onsen as cameras are not allowed since everyone needs to be nude in the pool. The onsen was great! Different types of pools with different temperatures, both indoor and outdoor pools. The place was really well-maintained and clean. Washed myself thoroughly before dipping inside the pool for around half hour. Bathed with HORSE OIL products. I never heard of such product before but apparently it's really good. And indeed, my hair was so so smooth after using it (I bought 6 bottles back)! There was facial products for you to use too, and it's not those cha chad kind lor... Biore foam, Kose and some Japanese hair treatment product. Loved it there~!! :D
