Perhaps halfway through your meal you might hear some screaming from the kids. It just signals the entrance of the Sesame Street characters for a photo taking session! The downside is that it's not THAT organized and children tend to get their way, I mean, we do feel bad to insist on our turn. So an option would be to quietly wait for the commotion to die down, or for new characters to come in for the kids to swarm them.. All in all just make sure you take photos! Because that's probably what you came for..

Breakfast with Sesame Street @ USS!
Thursday, 7 August 2014
We have been busy with life and such, transiting into work etc. Thus we found hard to fix up a schedule to maintain this blog but we'll still try our very best!. Checking our gmail account suddenly made me feel that this was one way we could document our memories properly, and considering many big plans are coming up, it would be good for us to clear some backlog!
First of all, we will need to travel back in time to July 2013, when we had a breakfast date with my favourite Sesame Street characters! Amazingly, this event is still going on at Resorts World Sentosa! Details can be found here. Available only on Saturdays, it will set you back $113 per pax to get the special breakfast buffet (Lots of photos) and a full day park entrance! Wouldn't hurt if you are planning to spend a day at USS right?
Posing with our special tickets! What trip to USS would be complete without the iconic globe?Because it was early in the morning (9am!) the streets were empty, and really windy!
Mimicking Cookie Monster to make the lady happy...
My dream shop! After a little short walk with guided signs we finally reached the restaurant. As you can see it's been converted from a restaurant which operates normally during other hours, so it may seem familiar to a lot of you who frequent USS. After registration, they provide you with a goody bag and it contains...
An Elmo plate which you can bring home!Awesome cake (inedible though...)Cookie monster imprinted on french toasts and really cute cutlery to keep little ones, and the children in us entertained!
Helping myself to the spread...More food!

Elmo and Oscar!Abby Caddaby! And here's us with our Cookie Monster cups! Told you their cutlery was cute.. and in fact, we actually purchased the cups (new ones at the gift shop) and are still using it today!
COOKIE MONSTER!As you can probably tell by now we are great fans of Cookie Monster! Well because I love cookies and I think he's just awesome! In any case we managed to snap a photo with him before he engulfed another kid in a hairy hug. We also teased CM with cookies we got from the breakfast spread and he was like AWWWWW..... Gave us a thumbs up too when he saw our shirts and that we were avid fans! It was great fun!On a side note now regarding the food, don't expect high standards. Well the presentation is one thing, but because overall if you're in for a gastronomic time, this isn't exactly the best breakfast you'll have. But if you're just in for the fun and experience, go for it!After the breakfast, it was time to explore USS once again! As we walked along the streets, we were...
Ambushed by Grover...
Got a picture with Ernie...Watched a short musical performance of the Sesame Street characters...And, although a little out of point, found Betty Boop!Although we did go for all the rides in USS, the reviews aren't being done here since the post isn't on USS itself per se, but I just cannot complete this post without a picture with my favourite Kung Fu Panda PO!Kerwyn & Sheena said hello at 20:36 | Labels: Activities, Breakfast, Paktor, RWS, USS | 0 comments | Email ThisBlogThis!Share to XShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! Or well, it was my 25th birthday, and she was really sweet to bring me to a place where we once had countdown to New Year's Eve before (a long time ago in 2011!) So, first off, location wise its as per the name, just plopped next to Changi Village, so if you don't drive, it could be a bit of a hassle to get there.
Before we got to the actual dinner venue we decided to check out some sights. Changi Point Coastal Walk is a stone's throw away from Netheravon road which CVH sits on so we decided to take a walk and some pictures before our dinner! More information on Changi Coastal Boardwalk can be found here.
It is a pretty quiet place, or at least when we went on a weekend late afternoon. Fortunately there wasn't much sun, and a bit of a sea breeze to keep us from sweating in Singapore's weather. It's a good place to have a good long chat with your loved one, or just enjoy the pristine surroundings.
If there was anything to mark the place down though, it would be the presence of industry (some, not much) in the background, kind of spoils the photos unless you get into the really right angles. Nevertheless we still managed to get some happy shots in, all with the use of timers and tripods and some old school poses!Back at the hotel, we took the lift up to level 8 where the dinner is supposed to be - La Cantina. I chose this place because of the potential view it offered and the ambience, and we weren't disappointed! Except for the bugs at night which I kind of hate, especially when dusk comes! However you can choose between dining Al Fresco, or just sit in the comforts of the air conditioned area.View from the Al Fresco dining area!Moving on to the food! We had the usual vegetarian friendly options of:Minestone soup and bread...Carbonara... ok I admit this wasn't vegetarian so you can guess who ate it!And a pizza! It's pretty clear who went for which side in this case too =)and most of all, how could we call it a celebration without the beer?Overall the food was good, but the carbonara wasn't the best we had. Pizza and pasta wise, both loses out to place like Peperoni Pizzeria and the like. Of course we were here for the ambience most importantly, which makes it a good place for dates and the like!Last but not the least, what is a birthday without a nice little cake?Looking forward to more awesomeness for future celebrations!

50th Monthsary @ Singapore Night Festival 2013
Sunday, 25 August 2013
It's our 50th month together! For the past 2 years we've been dropping by to see what has the Singapore Night Festival got to offer. We were pleasantly surprised with the exhibits which were very vibrant in colour, making it easy for even non-artsy people like us to appreciate.
It also allows free entry into the museums like Singapore Arts Museum unlike normal fees of $10. Small wonder such an event attracts sooo many Singaporeans!
Light projections onto the walls of Singapore Arts MuseumWe watched a 9 pm performance Night Lights - The Magic Melody, combining audio and visual treats to engage the viewers.Courtyard of SAM isn't decorated this time around...
Lasting from 7 pm to 2 am, the event stretches from Singapore Arts Museum to National Museum and all the way to Plaza Singapura. The map of the grounds can be found here.
To get to the Singapore Night Festival, public transport options are widely available since it is right smack in the middle of town. For those who would rather drive, parking options are available at SMU Admin building which is open till 12 am, or NTUC Union House which is open till 2 am for Switch customers. Expect the crowds to think so too and parking to be scarce also. So be there early or be prepared to wait!
Nice light sculptures lighting up the whole of the SMU campus!Live performance of HOMEMADE bandThis year seems to be focusing on a lot of facades, so at the National Museum you get to see wonderful projections again!
Vertical Extraction, another performance which makes use of the facade of the museum but in a different way.
Professional and coordinated, the artists use shadows, light and their own movement to create a piece of their own.
Meanwhile, another performance Pyramid of VoidAfter watching, we felt thirsty despite the occasional breeze. So we walked towards the Cathay to grab a drink. On the way, we spotted some lighted up airplanes outside SOTA. Being an aerospace engineer, a photo couldn't be missed!
Cute piece which blinks rapidly and only shows up as SG on a camera!Finishing off the day at Starbucks with our favourite dark mocha frap. Hopefully next year's Night Festival will be even more exciting! And that also concludes our 50th monthsary date. More plans coming right up!
